Pick-up Policies/Limitations

Island of Hawaii, Hilo:

Please give us a call as soon as you arrive in Hilo, and we will give you the exact details for picking up your camper. Unless arranged otherwise, you will need to take a taxi or shuttle from the airport to our downtown Hilo location, located at 45 Shipman St. We are in the rear of the building. Map
If your flight has been delayed, or you require further directions, please call our mobile phone at 808-896-3158.
Our office is just minutes from the airport and familiarization of the vehicle and paperwork takes about 30 minutes. We will be happy to direct you to nearby grocery stores, other shopping options, and restaurants.

Island of Hawaii, Kona:

We no longer offer service in Kona, see below on some ideas for getting to our office in Hilo.

Air: As of 1/10/05, Island Air is offering daily flights from Hilo to Kona at 8am for $20, and Kona to Hilo at 5:10pm.
Bus: Hele On bus schedule here.
Car: Most major car companies at the Kona airport will allow you to drop the car in Hilo for a slightly higher daily rate or drop fee. Plan on a two hour drive.

Insurance

Insurance can be provided by a personal home or auto policy- you must check with them to be sure that they will extend coverage to a mini-van rental in Hawaii. It is best to purchase a 'binder' from your insurance company- these generally provide you with the best coverage for your rental. Please forward proof of coverage for the rental to us before you arrive.

Your own insurance is required for the island of Hawaii- we are unable to sell insurance for Big Island rentals.
