Rental Contract
Reservation Deposits : A reservation deposit of $250.00 is required at time of booking. The receipt of this deposit does not imply acceptance by the Lessor of the booking. Only when the booking has beem confirmed by the Lessor is the deposit accepted, as the first installment of the total payable.
Security Deposit and vehicle turn-in: A $250.00 Security/Cleaning deposit may be required at the time of departure. Upon return, all extra charges, if any, are balanced against the security deposit and a credit or check issued to cover the refund. This deposit is fully refundable upon the return of the vehicle provided it and accessory equipment are clean and undamaged, if there are no additional outstanding charges or fees and if the fuel tank is full (if not returned full, the customer will be charged the cost of filling, plus $30.00).
Payment and Sales Tax Charges: All rental charges are payable at time of vehicle pick-up by cash, travelers checks, or approved credit card. If payment in full has not been received by the stipulated date, Lessor reserves the right to cancel the booking without further notice and without refund of deposit. We are required to add a $3 per day Hawaii State Rental Car Surcharge, and a 4.166% State Excise Tax.
Vehicle Pick-Up and Return: Vehicle may only be picked up by applicant. Days are counted as 24hrs; vehicle must be returned on the final day at or before the time of initial pick-up. A half day will be charged for returns up to 12 hours later than the pick-up time. Returns beyond 12 hours later will be charged an additional day.
Pick-up Policies/Limitations:
Hilo: Please give us a call as soon as you arrive in Hilo, and we will give you the exact details for picking up your camper. Unless arranged otherwise, you will need to take a taxi or shuttle from the airport to our downtown Hilo location, located at 45 Shipman St. We are in the rear of the building. Map

Our office is just minutes from the airport and familiarization of the vehicle and paperwork takes about 30 minutes. We will be happy to direct you to nearby grocery stores, other shopping options, and restaurants.
Kona: We no longer offer service in Kona. As of 1/10/05, Island Air is offering a daily flight from Kona to Hilo for $20, departing at 5:10pm.
Problems with the vehicle: Any problems associated with the vehicle, including equipment failure, must be reported to Imua Camper Company as soon as possible, in order to give Imua Camper Company the opportunity to recitify any problems during the the rental. Imua Camper Company does not accept liability for any claims submitted after this period.
Cancellations: For cancellations made up to 30 days prior to pick-up, full deposit and advance payments will be refunded, minus a $50 cancellation fee. For cancellations made 30-15 days prior to scheduled date of departure, reservation deposit is forfeited (unless applied to a future rental within one year of cancellation) and advance payments will be refunded. For cancellations made less than 15 days prior to the scheduled date of departure and “no-shows” (i.e., Lessor not informed of cancellation), all moneys collected are forfeited. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS OF TIME CHARGES FOR LATE PICK-UP OR EARLY RETURN.
All of the information I/we have given is true and correct. I/we understand that Imua Camper Company LLC (Lessor) may perform credit, employment, driving record, and auto insurance checks on all drivers, and I/we hereby authorize Lessor to receive this information from others. I/we understand that based on Lessor’s investigation of my/our credit, Lessor may at Lessor’s discretion, require an additional security deposit for me/us to obtain rental credit. I/we understand that this Rental Application will be retained by Lessor, whether or not it is approved. I/we understand that the Lessor reserves the right to substitute a vehicle of equal or greater value, or refund the deposit due to unavailability of a vehicle due to accident or breakdown.
Insurance: We offer insurance coverage for Maui island only at $10/day. It is mandatory unless you provide us with proof of sufficient coverage from a personal policy.
